Welp, we made it to 2016 writing about jeans and sneakers. If this week’s picks are any indication, this should be a good year!
It’s the stereotypical hacker outfit. Do it wrong, and you look like you’re still living with mom. Do it right, and you look like a million bucks (in unvested stock options). Here are three items — a hoodie, some jeans, and a pair of sneakers — that are on sale for a great price and worth a look this week.
The Hoodie: Gap Marled Hoodie, $14 (was $50)
Gap is running quite the sale right now. Lots of items are marked down 75%, so it’s worth taking a look around here.
Meanwhile, this hoodie is slightly dressier than the average hoodie. The “marled-ness” gives the fabric a bit more depth. Kinda like what happens when you casually drop a Proust reference into a conversation about pants.
The Jeans: Banana Republic Slim Five-Pocket Cords, $25 (was $70)
Yep, not actually jeans, but they are cut like jeans, there are a ton of sizes available, and the price-point is insane. These are currently $50, but BR will knock another 50% off at checkout thanks to their current sale. This is another sale worth browsing through, because the real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes.
The Sneakers: Reebok ‘Classic’ Sneaker, $51 (was $85)
Not a ton of sizes available here, but these are a great looking pair of kicks and worth a mention. Two colors available — red and black. My size is not available, so bad news for me. Your size might be available. Take a look here. From Nordstrom so expect fast and free shipping and returns. Prefer some cork Vans instead? You’re in luck.
The Bonus: Seiko Dress Watch, $64
Much better looking than the smartwatch you just bought yourself for Christmas, sorry. So wear it when you’re not in need of wrist alerts.
