TigerDirect is going out of business. Their parent company was acquired a few months ago, and the new owner has decided to liquidate the company. We might as well take advantage of this, because the TigerDirect liquidation sale has a few things that are discounted down to the Black Friday prices at Amazon! All purchases made are final sales (due to the closing of their business) so no returns will be possible but your items will still have manufacturer warranties. It’s one of those situations where we’ll stick to the large reputable manufacturers so that you don’t have a hassle in the coming months.
Samsung 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV, $1,297.97 + S&H (was $2,699.99)
This TV came in rated the 10th best 65″ TV according to rtings.com last year, and it’s priced just below Amazon.com’s discounted Black Friday price. It’s huge, so it will be a great TV for large rooms that are well lit or have a lot of natural light coming in. It does not have the best black levels, so this would not be the ideal TV for your burgeoning basement home theater. Again, the semi-gloss finish reduces reflections and it has a great viewable angle so you won’t have to worry about tooling around with your seating arrangement. Perfect for the large living room with lots of windows. The 26.4 ms input lag when the TV is in game-mode is some of the best you’ll find in TVs this size!
As a note, the TV pictured in the article header is not this TV. That’s the $2000 curved option in the same 65″ size. Dystopian future not included.
Dell Inspiron 5558 15.6″ Laptop -Intel Core i7-5500U, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 920M, $599.97 +S&H (was $799)
Another item that’s priced below Amazon’s lowest historical price, this is a pretty beefy 16″ laptop. Respectable processor, a workhorse video card, and 8GB or memory will allow you to run most games and easily knock out almost anything that you’re doing for work or fun. The 5400 rpm HDD is the only thing that sorta sucks, but you can upgrade that on your own time. This laptop comes preloaded with Windows 10 (and I’m sure it has ample bloatware), and the 15.6″ WXGA LED backlit screen will suffice for most of your laptopping needs.
The rest of the liquidation sale is tough to figure out what is a great deal and what’s at Amazon’s regular prices. If you’re building a PC I suggest checking the Amazon pricing before buying any of your components at TigerDirect. That being said, you’d be missing a great opportunity if you didn’t check out TigerDirect’s sale before they close up shop.
