Amazon’s Black Wednesday / Prime Day

July 8, 2015 | by Josh

Amazon Prime Members have something to look forward to on Wednesday, July 15th. It’s Amazon’s 20th birthday, and they’ve decided to celebrate by throwing the biggest sale of the year, promising “more deals than Black Friday!” {Bum Bum Bummm! *Dramatic Reverb*}

The sale, dubbed “Amazon Prime Day,” begins at midnight with the deals coming as frequently as every 10 minutes (sounds like a Woot! Off), so try and wrap up most of your work on Tuesday so that you can focus on the important stuff.

In addition to the sales, they’re running a few contests:

Amazon’s “Listen for a Chance to Win” Sweepstakes

This one is easy. Just play any Prime Music song, playlist, album, or station on July 15th for a chance to win up to $25,000 in Amazon Gift Cards. This is a no-brainer. Might I suggest this 80s classic?

Amazon’s “#PrimeLiving” Photo Contest

There’s a chance to win $10,000 in Amazon gift cards, with one winner per country (so if you’re from Luxembourg, you should be all over this). Submit a picture that makes you happy, they say. So if you have a cute cat, a photogenic baby, or beautiful friends you have a leg up on everyone!

Mark your calendars now — Amazon Prime Day is a week away. This is going to be interesting.

Don’t have Amazon Prime? Well, it’s $99, but do yourself a solid and pick up the Amazon Fire Phone for $159 instead. You’ll get a year of Prime included and a sweet device.
