Review: V-MODA Crossfade M-100 Over-Ear Noise-Isolating Metal Headphones

October 4, 2017 | by Scott

On-ear headphones are a big trend right now. Having good sound quality is the most important thing when it comes to headphones. A lot of headphones will cost you an arm and a leg, and they don’t even have a particularly long lifespan, and the sound quality isn’t even that good.

Well the Crossfade M-100 headphones are worth the cost. They are incredibly durable, and they look great.

Style

The Crossfade M-100s are made from mostly metal, giving them a sleek and futuristic look. Not only do they look cool but the metal casing renders them nearly impossible to damage. The earphones themselves are armored giving them the ultimate strength for long-lasting sound quality.

The Kevlar wrapped cord is just under 4 feet long and can be easily and cheaply replaced if they break. This is good news because anyone who is familiar with any product which has a cord knows how easily they can break. You can put the cable on either side of the headphones, an option which isn’t available on most headphones. They come with small stoppers that you can put in the unused plug, so the other plug doesn’t get full of fluff.

Comfort

These headphones are incredibly comfortable to wear, as the ear pads are very soft and mold to the shape of your ear well. The headband is easily adjustable and can accommodate lots of different head sizes. You can also buy different ear pads in bigger sizes if necessary.

The ear pads can get quite hot after extended wear when they are sitting on your head, but no more than wearing anything that close to your head for that long would cause.

Travel

One of the greatest features of these headphones is that they can fold up into a small little hard case (provided) enabling you to put them into any bag. This makes them perfect for commuters or for people who travel a lot – you will definitely enjoy this feature.

Sound

Onto the most important feature of headphones – the sound. The M-100s make each note sound crystal clear – a bit of a shock if you’re not used to such emphasis – but once you’re used to it, it makes listening such a pleasure.

They are loud enough so that you will notice basslines and lower frequencies more than you ever did, making you appreciate the music much more. They cancel out outside noise really well, so you can really focus on the music without interruptions from traffic or other people. Perfect for those who plan to use these headphones at work or out and about.

All in all, these headphones are really good for music lovers, and even better for people who tend to be a bit accident prone. These headphones don’t come cheap, retailing on Amazon for $249, but you definitely get what you pay for. If you want durability, excellent sound quality and a sleek look, you are looking at the right headphones.
