It’s official men are enjoying going to the spa more than ever. The number is increasing worldwide: according to Conde Nast Traveler Magazine, 35% of spa-goers are male. Probably what’s happening is that guys are realizing the benefits of visiting a spa regularly. Either way, if you’re going to a spa for the first time, here are few suggestions.
Have some fun, and most of all relax!
The spa is the perfect place to let your guard down, relax and get pampered. Spa treatments are ideal for de-stressing from the daily grind. Use the experience to unwind, and enjoy all features and amenities the spa offers.
Familiarize yourself with treatments created just for you.
Your first time at a spa can be a tad overwhelming since there are so many treatments and services to choose from. While some of them are tailored to women, spas do offer services just for you too. Ask before booking your appointment so that you can take advantage of everything a spa has to offer. Here a few standard treatments you can request.
- Deep tissue massage: Your girl might like Swedish massages, but deep-tissue and sports massages are a lot better for guys. The goal is to provide relief to tense muscles and lessen the chance of injury from strenuous workouts or playing sports.
- Facial: There are several to choose from and customized to what you’ll need. There could be facials focus on shaving-related issues or skin conditions such as acne, anti-aging, and dullness. You might have to schedule several sessions to see results.
- Body Scrub: Exfoliating should be part of your weekly skincare routine. A body scrub’s purpose is to get rid of dull skin while also leaving your skin smooth and rejuvenated.
Bring a friend along or your girlfriend.
If you are feeling self-conscious about your spa day, make it into a fun date with your girlfriend. You can also bring a female friend or a guy friend that has experience with going to spas to help you out. You can make it into guy’s hangout if you want to!
